This study examines the construction of the Transnordestina Railway, which will extend for 608 kilometers across the State of Ceará in a north–south direction. The research addresses the historical relationship between rail transportation and economic development, as well as the potential contribution of railway infrastructure to regional productive integration and socioeconomic expansion.
