The Energy Transition and the Global Decarbonization of the Economy: The Contribution and Strategic Role of Ceará in the Production and Export of Green Hydrogen to Europe
In a scenario in which decarbonization is consolidated as a priority agenda in the global energy debate, green hydrogen, produced from renewable sources, emerges as a strategic alternative for replacing fossil fuels in various sectors of the economy. In this context, the state of Ceará stands out for bringing together an important set of competitive advantages: high potential for solar and wind energy generation; an industrial area with significant consumption potential; port infrastructure connected to global markets, with a shared governance model between the State Government and the Port of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands; in addition to an Export Processing Zone fully operational and with already consolidated tax incentives.
